ANOTHER SOMETIME IN JERUSALEM DECEMBER 2013

After standing on top of Masada, we went swimming in the Dead Sea, before we 
made our journey into Jerusalem through the Damascus Gate, the route Jesus would 
have taken as He made His weary trek to the cross. Jerusalem had easily a foot 
and a half to two and a half feet of snow or more. Our tour guide, Ronin said he 
had never seen this much snow in Israel.

   SOMETIME IN DECEMBER 2013

     This has been more than a mountaintop experience. If it isn't on your bucket 

list, it should at the very top. I will never see the Bible or the Sunday School 
stories the same way ever again! Schma Israel, Adonai Eloheinu Adonai Achad. "Hear, 

O Israel, the Name is our God, the Name is One."

A Burial Tomb Similar to That of Jesus'

   We passed this tomb after leaving Mount Caramel. This is a tomb much like the one Jesus 

was buried in.

     This is where Elijah called down fire from God when Jezebel's 450 prophets could 
not get the god of Baal to listen to them.  He climbed this nearly 2000 foot 
mountain seven times to rebuild the altar and called down fire from Heaven to 
prove that God is real to the Israelites, even digging a deep moat of water, and drenching

the sacrifice and wood in water before asking God to consume it.  I wish I could travel 

through a vortex in time to hear Elijah make fun of their gods who could not "hear" them or 

when he taunted that "maybe they were sleeping," or "on vacation," or even "using the bath-

room," as the prophets of Baal did everything they could to get them to rain fire down from 

Heaven.

     After that Elijah ran all the way to Jezreel with Ahab hot on his heels, and he beat 

the pants off him!  This man might have been the first superhero!!!  As usual, it was raining

cats and dogs, so we didn't get out of the bus.  Thus, the crummy pictures.

Caesarea and the Storm

   This is King Herod's aqueduct, 17 miles long, that he built to bring fresh 

spring water from Mt. Caramel to Caesarea. You also get the benefit of seeing 
part of this historical storm, as evidenced by the huge waves of the 
Mediterranean Sea. Our guide and professor say they've never seen anything like 
this. It's awesome!
